Sky Valley Co-op Preschool
provides children an environment where they are allowed to grow individually in
mind, body, and spirit as they are nurtured through the acceptance of their
teacher and other parents. Children are
encouraged to learn through play, explore, and experience different learning
centers set up in the class. Art,
science, literacy, math/manipulatives, dramatic play, carpentry, and outdoor
play are all part of a planned curriculum specifically designed to create fun
and new learning experiences. Our
preschool’s top priority is to provide a developmentally appropriate program,
and to meet our childrens social, emotional, cognitive, and physical
needs.
Being part of Sky Valley
Co-op Preschool is a commitment. You
take responsibility for operating the preschool by holding a parent job
(committee), providing snack on a rotating basis, participating in fund raising,
participating in class on your scheduled work day, and having fun. In addition, at the beginning and ending of
the school year, parents are needed to help set-up and pack-out the classroom. The preschool has required
bi-monthly meetings that are approximately two hours to
discuss preschool business. During these
meetings, parent education is provided.
